Bound in original printed paper over boards and half cloth spine. 8vo, pp. 471. ¶ Inscribed on the front free endpaper: "To James N. Munro (?) with best wishes of the Author's son / New Glasgow N.S. / Feby 6/08". The inner hinges are cracked. Contents age-toned, but otherwise clean and tight. Boards soiled, and rubbed at edges. Overall, still in fairly good condition. There is no evidence that the folding map, sometimes seen in other copies, was ever present in this copy. See Watters 722.
