First French edition in a translation of Joseph d'Aquin of this meteorological work by the Italian scientist and astonomer Giuseppe Toaldo (1719 - 1797) He e.g. edited the collected works of Galilei in 1744. He strongly advocated the use of lightning rods of the Franklin system and due to his exertions the cathedral of Siena , Saint Mark's tower in Venice etc. were among the first buildings in Italy to be equipped. He was professor of astronomy at Pavia university. (1762). In this meteorological work data about the temperatures and the rainfall during the 18th century in Padova ( Padua) are listed in table format. List 4 gives the death at Padova. Toaldo created a network of observatories in trying to verify the hypothesis of lunar and stellar influence on weather changes. From the contradictions that emerged from these data 18th century meteorology received a boost. (St. Casati in Nuncius Vol. 5 Issue 1 - 1990). Text of the book is in French. Livre en français. .
