H. M. Severence was a very early Kansas settler, having arrived with "The First Spring Party," March 13, 1855, under the auspices of the New England Emigrant Aid Society. The outer spine on the book is wholly lacking, having been restored with brown library tape, remains a good study & reference copy. Good.
