Description: Amsterdam, Frits & Marijke Beukers, 1995. Handcoloured Map featuring both Hemispheres, fremed under glass, [155x120mm.]. This World Map based on Nolin's famous map of 1700 was probably made by Pieter Mortier I (1661-1711) and later reworked by the Firm of Covens & (Cornelis ) Mortier. This miniature reproduction after an original in the Nederlands Scheepvaar Museum in Amsteram, measuring 150x120cm., was made by the artist-printed Johan de Zoete, using the dustgrain photogravure process. It was printed on 300grs. Hahnemühle paper. This reproduction is published by Frits and Marijke Beukers in an edition of 100 copies, numbered 1-100. A special edition of 10 copies, numbered I-X, has been carefully handcoloured in fine pastel shades by Marijke Beukers, the original map serving as a model. This copy bears nr. VII/X.
