French language scholarly comparative paper about the palaeography and linguistic translations after stone inscriptions originating from the ancient Sumatran Kingdom Çrivijaya (also written as Sri Vijaya, Indonesian Srivijaya). Author compares and assesses a previous transcription by the dutch Professor H.Kern (a palaeographer and linguist) published in BKI vol. 67, 1913, by his own research after original sources. A very important comparative paper. Very good copy. Srivijaya was a pouwerful ancient thalassocratic Malay empire based on the Island of Sumatra, Indonesia, which influenced much of Southeast Asia. The earliest solid proof of its existence dates from the 7th century. The Kingdom ceased to exist in the 13th century and was followed by the Kingdom of Majapahit.
