The December 1948 Special Christmas issue contains 4 fine chromolithographed advertising plates. Nicely designed original lino-cut exlibris pasted on verso of front boards, together with a private ms. annotation in ink at top margin. A collection of odd numbers of a dutch language illustrated weekly, Ons Vrije Nederland , including some odd issues of Vrouwenstem (Women's voice) issued by the same publisher. Supplies a wealth of national and international news, including flashes covering the political situation in dutch colonial Indonesia during the dutch-indonesian dispute, 1945-1945; also including society-news, women's and children's fashions and clothing, dutch and world politics, sports and artistic performances. The first five volumes of this weekly have been published in secret during the german nazi occupation of Holland during the Second Worldwar, 1940-1945, after the liberation the weekly went public. Well preserved, sold however w.a.f. (With All Faults). (covers a bit shaved, some inner joints of issues re-inforced with adhesive sellotape).
