Cathars or Albigense, a late medieval Roman Catholic denomination, residing at Occitania Province, southern France, near the foot of the Pyrenees. Accused of heresy the Cathars were subject to heavy persecution by Rome, after one of the bloodiest conquests of Occitania Cathars were subjected to the Inquisition lead by the Dominican Order resulting in massive killings, the last Cather 'Parfait', Guillaume Bélibaste (born 1280) was burnt at the stake at the village of Villerouge-Termenès in 1321.
