Orig. lettered wraps, facsim. illustration on front wrapper, spinal string. 4pp. of descr. text to the illustrations in french, num. ills. on 24 fine facsim. plates after the original copper engravings, 8pp. of descr. text to all illustrations, in german after the original french text, A-4 sized and stapled, loose in endpocket. A superb quality facsimilé, printed on heavy paper and in the same size as the original of 1771. An ample description of tools, in use for more than two centuries ago with sculptors working with all kinds of material: stone, wood, &c. Very interesting as many tools have gone obsolete and cannot be found in later textbooks. Very fine copy. Scarce.
