Hard Cover, 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall, Very Good/No DJ, as Issued, Clean, solid, hard bound book handsomely designed with orange cover printed in black on orange paper at faceboard. Black cloth spine. Though there is no date in the book, there is a letter signed by Gordon L. Pirie laid-in dated January 3, 1942 to a customer who had bought pieces from the collection previously. Book is clean and tightly bound with no names or writing. Small bit of wear at crown of spine and to two upper corners only faults. Nice maps endpapers and beautiful full page photos in black and white highlighting each peice of furniture with caption. The Beacon Hill collection was inspired by the design and craftsmanship of of 18th century and includes pieces for the living room, dining room and bedroom. 197 pages. Indexed. Measures 8"x10-3/4" The company has long been a Chicago landmark (since 1854). They have also been associated with the great Chicago architect Louis Sullivan after purchasing and expanding in 1904 a building he did for retailer, Schlesinger & Meyer.
