First translation into English was Boston, 1878, as Mother Play and Nursery Songs, edited by Elizabeth P. Peabody with translations by Fannie E. Dwight & Josephine Jarvis. A different translation appeared in London in 1888 as Mother's Songs, Games and Stories. International Education Series, edited by William T. Harris Volume XXXI. NY: Appleton, 1911. 3rd Edition in English, Later printing. xxii+316+[2]pp. + 8 pages of ads. 46 text illustrations. 12mo. Printed decorative green cloth with gilt spine lettering and black & reddish front lettering. Covers lightly spotted, slight ink splotching to right edge of text block, marginal ink and pencil annotations to a few pages, a quite decent reading copy. Printed from stereotype plates. Blow's introduction is a substantioal text of 39 pages, while the eight-page preface by the series editor, the notable Hegelian W. T.
