Generally near to VG with unmarked contents, foxing to eps with ff largely untouched, the plates show minor tanning. Fold-out maps excellent. Still an attractive and sound set. " ... and with an introduction by I. Schapera". Edition limited to 1250 unnumbered copies. Includes lists of Author's own corrections to each volume as given in his own copies in the possession of the University Museum, Oxford. A classic of African travel and exploration.
