This edition is the first and best, the later paperback does not cover the early years in anything like as much detail. The regimental history covers the Frontier Wars of the Eastern Cape that raged from 1835 to 1853, the Langeberg campaign of 1897 in Bechuanaland, and includes service through World War II. The regiment is housed in Grahamstown, being the successor to the original Graham's Town Volunteers. List of Southern Rhodesian personnel attached (in WW2), Roll of Honour. Included in the book is the original receipt attached to a First City letterhead, and also a card invitation to a 'Special Mess' held on Friday 13th November 1970 to mark the publication of this book.
