Excellent photographs considering the difficulties and low level technology available over 100 years ago. These were taken at a time when Africa was relatively unspoiled. The author's route took him from Mombasa past Nairobi to Lakes Naivasha & Nakuro, with a diversion to Fort Hall and beyond to Meru. Interesting advice on equipping and preparing a similar expedition. The photographic kit comprised a huge reflex camera, plates were developed in camp. Subject matter includes scenery and local inhabitants, but is mostly of wildlife.
