ISBN: 0869201360 As a trained nurse the author was responsible for those of the Jameson Raid (1894) that ended up in the Krugersdorp hospital. She later served in a similar role at both Umtali & Salisbury during the Mashona uprising of 1896. Both times she answered a call for volunteer help and travelled from Cape Town to which she later returned. She graphically describes the major campaigns, the defeat and death of Makoni, the episode of the Mazoe Patrol, and actions in the Hartley district. As an artist, she made her own sketches which illustrate this book.
