Du Fu (712-770) wrote the poem to his friend Wei Pa. Elsewhere translated as 'To Wei Pa. A Retired Scholar' (Kenneth Rexroth), and 'For The Recluse Wei Pa' (David Hinton), and with an additional translation here by Robert Berold 'To Wei Ba, In Retirement'.
