Author was the son of Sir Abe Bailey the mining financier, and Lady Mary Bailey the well known pioneer of aviation across Africa from prewar years. He flew as a fighter pilot in WW2, and besides finally publishing his wartime verse gives some snippets of information on the planes that he flew.
