Binding is scuffed and smudged on its faces and rubbed at its edges, especially at its cover corners, where the underlying boards are starting to show through. Page block edges and endpapers are darkened, and extreme margins of text pages are just starting to darken. Binding is square; front hinge is a little weak but not splitting; there is a gift inscription in ink on the front free endpaper, but otherwise pages are unmarked, although they are often finger-smudged at their margins.
