will be sold by auction by Messrs. Sotheby & Co. ,,, On Monday, the 13th day of May, 1929 ... London, (1929). Pp.20, of quarto dimension, sewn in printed wrappers, with frontispiece and four other plates, three of them folding. Set to the blank recto of the frontispiece are two associated newspaper clippings indicating the sale to the Mitchell Library of four of the twelve lots. ¶ ** On the upper wrapper are the signature of W.H.Gill (the Melbourne antique dealer?) and the rubber stamp of K.F.Russell, late Professor of Anatomy at the University of Melbourne. Despite the wording of the title, the collection contained many letters and papers of Banks himself, and not only letters to him.
