BERTAUX Terrestrial Globe Bertaux with iron tripod, 1920

Published globes by various manufacture such as Dien, Dubail, or Eichen’s globes for planetariums, as well as the lunar and Mars globes created from Camille Flammarion’s discoveries. This terrestrial table globe is made up of twelve colored printed paper gores and two polar calottes. The meridian and equator graduated in degrees and the ecliptic ungraduated, the oceans showing ocean currents. The continents with the nations boundaries coloured. The globe is mounted with brass coloured support to bronze coloured iron tripod. Emile Bertaux (1880-1900) was a publisher of international globes of Dien, Dubail, Eichens navisphere, Mars and lunar globes. Bertaux was also a successor to Maison Delamarche, who occupied this adress prior to Bertaux, and originally published Charles Deins's globes (Dekker and van der Krogt, Globes from the Western world).
