1844. Two explanation symbols are given for identification: "Field Ice" (Icefield) [areas of ices, under 50,000km/19,305 miles in size]; and "Ice Islands" or icebergs (see 4th scan). [Land masses and small islands include: eastern Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Sable Island, Bell Isle, Anticosti island, Brenton Island].Copperplate engraved chart [map], 8 1/2 x 11 3/8 inches measured from the dark black border, plus blank edges that vary from 1/4 to 3/4 inch. Folded (3)at the width twice, and lengthwise, once.. Lightly aged paper with light foxing, some rubbing to the folds (no tears, damp stains, etc.). Engraved by C. Copley. Published by W & G. W.
