Hardback , no dustjacket. ¶ A first edition of Hazlitt's translation of two works on Italian artists. Of Duppa's biography of Michalangelo Hazlitt remarks 'a critical biography of Michal Angelo, of a wholly satisfactory nature, already existed, from the pen, well known as a most competent one, of Mr Duppa. His work, accordingly, is here re-produced entire'. Of De Quincy's account of the life & work of Raffaello he writes ''a work which has received the sanction of all of Europe'.
