Hardback , no dustjacket. ¶ Biography of Charles Price [ 1807 - 1891 ] Congregational Minister who after training in London & Coventry travelled to Tasmania in 1832 to become a minister. Despite finding his expected Hobart congregation dispersed he moved to Launceston for a short while before a brief time in Sydney. He returned to Launceston & finding that the 'Presbyterian and Wesleyan churches had been established, sought to found a Congregational church without undue call on Dissenting generosity. A church was formed on 26 October 1836 and the Tamar Street Chapel opened on 6 September 1837' ( ANDB). He was the first Independent Minister In Australia.
