Mission stations were found in Srirangam, Tanjore, Madura, Kanchi, Chidambram and Tirupathi. The conversations were recorded, sent to Halle where they were published from 1715 onwards. The answers to the questions were translated into German and forwarded to Halle. Ziegenbalg became fluent in Tamil. A.o. he compiled a Tamil grammar, translated the Bible into Tamil and he translated Tamil literature for the first time into an European language. Offered for EUR 1200.00 = appr.
