Anne Grant (born MacVicar) was born in Scotland in 1755, and as a child settled in America, on the Hudson, with her parents, her father being stationed there as a British officer. Several years were spent in Albany, New York where Anne stayed with a family Schuyler. In 1768, when Anne was thrirteen years old, the family returned to Scotland and Anne never visited America again. She wrote this account about 40 years after her return. Sabin 28296.
