Albert-Pierre Sarraut (1872-1962) was a French Radical Socialist statesman most noted for his colonial policy and liberal rule as governor-general of Indochina. As governor-general (during the years 1911-14; and 1916-19) he increased the proportion of native Indochinese in the civil service, recognized the use of the local languages and laws, etc.
