Gray wrappers, lettered in black with ornate initials, full-page pen and water-color illustration at ffep, a fine, unopened copy. ¶ First Edition, with Valery's pensive water-color sketch on the flyleaf of an older man seated at his reading desk beside a window, inscribed to Parisian publisher and bibliophile Edouard Champion and initialled 'P.V'. This collection of brief essays contains pieces dedicated to Edouard Vuillard and Rainer Maria Rilke among others is one of a 'petit nombre' specially printed on velin d'Annonay for the friends of Plaisir de Bibliophile.
