Part of Milan's Transformati, Alessandro Verri and his brother, Pietro, played vital roles in translating the innovative spirit of the mid to late18th century Italian reformation in morality, philosophy, and social relations into art, the entire movement inspired by the thought and work of Rousseau and Diderot in France.
