Elmira, N.Y., 13 june, 1895. 12mo. 2pp. in pencil, on letterhead of Quarry Farm, Elmira. N.Y. Minor soiling, old folds. Very good. ¶ On the eve of his world-wide lecture tour of 1895-96 (later recounted in FOLLOWING THE EQUATOR), Clemens writes: "Dear C & W", 'In the Himalayas; by CF Gordon Cumming.' I see you publish it. Anytime between this & October if you chance to send an invoice of books to Melbourne, please put in a copy of it, addressed to Mark Twain c/o R.S. Smythe Balwyn Melbourne" Clemens' voyage of 1895/96 included a visits to Australia on his way to Ceylon and India. His letter is docketed in another hand: "Sent & chged June 24."
