The British amateur compuser wrote the opera "Domenica,""Lucinda,"and "The Bridal of Triermain," the first of which was produced at Drury Lany. In 1857 he published his noted oratoria "Paradise lost." He was the author of some 5 symphonies, four orchestra overtures, two volumes of poetry and many songs and duets.
