Cobden-Sanderson and other matters. London, aug. 29 1926. (DOVES PRESS) 12mo. 2 1/2 pp. Fine. ΒΆ Fine letter from the distinguished critic and journalist Desmond MacCarthy, literary editor of the New Statesman at the time. T.J. Cobden-Sanderson's Journals (edited by his son Richard) was published in 1926; apparently MacCarthy had received a review copy from Richard. "I have almost finished your father's Journals, which means that I have been neglecting my work disgracefully. It also means that I have been enjoying them very much. I have been quite content to drop my life & live in his for two days..." He goes on to solicit copies of C.-S.'s other writings, and asks whether Richard would prefer a short article in the New Statesman, or a longer article in The Empire Review. "i have a good deal to say...I must tell you how much I admire the printing & paging & spacing & binding of the journals..."
