Browned, upper margin of title cut away, else a good copy. ¶ The 24th of April 1617 Louis XIII had Concini, Marshal d'Ancre assassinated. The Marshal with his wife Leonora Galigai, were extremely influential with the Queen-mother and had become very powerful, forcing many of the ministers to resign and involving themselves in numerous intrigues. At his death the Queen-mother left for Blois in furor and thus began the many years of hostilities and intrigues between the Queen-mother and the King. At the murder of Concini, Albert, sieur de Luynes took his place as the Marshall and became the confidant of the king
