Some browning and soiling of jacket, else a good copy. ¶ With a printed slip stating that the author was to be away which "prevents him from inscribing this book, which he sends to you as his personal gift. The book will be published on February 21st." There is also a typed letter, dictated by Charles Morgan and signed by his secretary in his absence to Mrs. Langdon Marvin, telling her that they were getting ready to go to the West Indies and about the "Challenge to Venus" "as I shall be far away, it will not I am afraid be inscribed with all the grateful and affectionate messages that we should wish."
