[21] ff. with obituaries and clippings laid down, with two additional articles loosely inserted. Full burgundy morocco, boards with triple gilt fillet border, titled in gilt, a.e.g. by Zaehnsdorf. In half morocco slipcase and chemise. ΒΆ "The series of really great books written by this master among fisherman has done more to influence the sport than any literary work since The Compleat Angler" (The Field, 7 March 1914). Compendium prepared for the Halford family of the obituaries and recollections appearing in the months after Halford's death from pneumonia, just off the English coast, on board the Morea, on 5 March 1914. A number of the writers were Halford}s friends; and many were themselves celebrated British and American anglers: H. T. Sheringham, William Senior ("Red Spinner"). Includes extracts from The Times, the Daily Telegraph, The Field, Country Life, The Fishing Gazette, etc. One of the articles from The Fishing Gazette is a letter from America from Theodore Gordon "We really owed much to him. You may remember that his two first books gave me the dry-fly fever in 1890, and greatly increased my enjoyment of fly fishing. ..." (9 May 1914).
