[SHELLEY, PERCY BYSSHE AND ELIZABETH SHELLEY], Original Poetry by Victor & Cazire. Edited by Richard Garnett.
London: John Lane, 1898. Facsimile reprint of the Worthing 1810 edition. 8vo. . Boards. Spine label browned, front joint just starting. Granniss 2 for the 1810 edition; Wise "Shelley Library" p. 30. ¶ Facsimile of Shelley's second book from Harriet Grove's copy which was not discovered until 1897 when Harriet's brother Charles's grandson brought in a volume of bound Byron pieces to John Lane's and it was found to be among them. This work was originally suppressed as it was discovered that the poem "Saint Edmond's Eve" was plagarized from Monk Lewis' "The Black Canon of Elmham or St. Edmund's Eve." This discovery and Stockdale's account of Shelley's authorship were published in the scurrilious publication "Stockdale's Budget" in 1826
