Written in the 12th Century, this work is the most important which has been attributed to Gualteri Mapes, or Walter Mapes. A native of Hereford, he was a personal enemy of the illegitimate son of the king, Geoffrey. This work is a series of snatches on a variety of different topics which appear to have been composed on an ad hoc basis. Topics covered include the capture of Jerusalem by Saladin, pope Lucius succeeding Alexander III. Text is in Latin.
