New York, Harper & Brothers. 1900. Hard Cover. This antique hardcover set is bound in blue and tan marbled boards, with 3/4 leather trim. Leather on covers appears blue-green, but spines appear brown. Top page edge is gilt. Covers have some wear, scuffing, etc. as do spines; a couple of spines are chipped. Inner pages are clean, though browned at edges. These are the first five volumes of a larger collection of Motley's writings; the entirety of his "Dutch Republic" is complete in these five volumes. Each is approx. 400 pages, 6"x8". Near Very Good/No Jacket.
