New York, A. S. Barnes and Company. 1950, First Edition. Hard Cover. This 5.5"x8" hard cover book has a brown cover with red lettering on the front and spine of the cover. The front endpaper is excised, there are two holes in the front cover, the cover edges are worn. A collection of twelve stories, some of which had previously been published in the Saturday Evening Post. One of the stories is Flashing Spikes, which O'Rourke later developed into a novel. Other stories are Last Accounting, Delayed Decision, Home Game, Nothing New, One More Inning, and The Best Position. O'Rourke was one of the leading baseball fiction writers during this era. A tough title to find. 206 pages. Fair/No Jacket.
