A monograph on engraving followed by short biographies of each of the six artists, accompanied by a suiteof six large engravings, one each by Cami, Cottet, Decaris, Jeannisson, Hasegawa, and Lemagny. From a total edition of 320 copies, this is ONE OF ONLY 50 SETS OF THE DELUXE EDITION, WITH A SECOND SUITE OF THE ENGRAVINGS IN FIRST STATE (and thus 12engravings in all). THE ENGRAVINGS IN FIRST STATE ARE ALL SIGNED IN PENCIL. Hasegawa's engraving, "Anemones et fleurs de champs dans un verre a facettes" (Kyoto 368), is considered one of his masterpieces, and very few Hasegawa prints are signed in pencil. Folio (38 x 28 cm). Loose as issued in custom-made clamshell box. FINE AND BRIGHT. Complete sets are of the greatest rarity, as almost all have been dismembered for individual prints.
