First Edition (first printing). 8vo. 342pp. Brown smooth-weave cloth lettered in gold at the spine and with Williamson's ubiquitous owl logo gold-stamped to the upper board. Portrait frontispiece. Top edge lightly spotted and dust soiled, and with some partial browning to the free endpapers. Very good indeed in non-price-clipped dust wrapper, alas a somewhat rubbed, chafed and handled example with a little loss from the spine ends and corner tips, and really quite tender at the natural spine panel-rear panel fold (but now protected). A selection of tales and sketches written during the period Williamson lived in Georgeham ('Ham'), in-part inspired by various village characters. Very Good/Fair.
