Some light staining to cloth at upper board, and some spotting to top- and fore edge and to very occasional leaf margins. A nice bright copy, lacking the uncommon dust wrapper. A collection of thirty essays and sketches recounting village life in the decade following the Great War. Both this book and its companion piece, 'The Village Book' (1930), were subsequently rearranged and revised by Williamson in 1945 to form 'Tales of a Devon Village' and 'Life in a Devon Village'. Very Good/No Jacket.
