Covers fairly faded, corners bumped, wear to spine ends, endpapers foxed, still good and fairly presentable. Only 1000 copies printed. Bookplate of Louis and Ellen Shipman to front fixed endpaper. Ellen Shipman (1869-1950, American) was a noted landscape architect. Small gift inscription to half title page: "All the way from London to Louis Shipman . . M.K. Aug. 31/99" Possibly Mitchell Kennerley, who at the time was manager of publisher John Lane's New York branch.
