1862. Report given to Chittenden with holograph addendum. May 14, 1862. Chittenden (1824-1900) was appointed Registrar of the Treasury by President Abraham Lincoln. He was also the author of a book on Lincoln and his administration (1901). In this note, he adds his opinion to a report on a Mr. C.C. Lathrop, who was involved in an insurance company failure in New Orleans. Very Good.
