A series of art anatomical drawings of a male magamo çoeŸé´¨ (mallard) that uses a technique of depiction seen in the important EishÅ� Hyakucho Gafu 英章百鳥画è­oe, a series of bird images in 4 volumes printed in the TaishÅ� era, edited by Takeuchi SeihÅ� 竹å†-æ –é³³, in which a combination of sumi 墨 ink sketching and detailed realistic coloring gives a surrealistic flavor to the bird studies. Ishizaki KÅ�yÅ� 石崎å-‰ç‘¤ (1884-1947),also Ishizaki Ishi'ichi, was a member of the second generation of the Kyoto School of painters. Born in Toyama, he was first a student of the Rimpa artist Yamamoto Koichi å±±æoe¬å-‰ä¸€ (c.1843-1905), then, not surprisingly, the great Takeuchi Seiho 竹å†-æ –é³³ (1864 - 1942). KÅ�yÅ� is an important artist in his own right, whose colorful and decorative paintings have gained popularity in recent decades. This scroll is in near perfect condition. .
