Elephant folio, 50 engraved plates. Half red cloth over brown paper covered boards with printed paper cover label ("Basaltic Mountains"). Ex-library with usual markings, including blindstamping to each plate's margin. Spine and front board detached from bookblock, spine chipped at heel and crown, boards and cloth worn, boards ragged at edges, joints splitting, boards soiled. Light to moderate foxing in margins and in some images; the first few plates have dampstaining to the margins. As is. Plates after A. Biasini and others.
