(n.p., n.p. - "U.S.A." - n.d. ca. 1880). 8vo., 190 pp. Two volumes in one. Translated from the German. White wrappers printed in black, with mystical illustration to rear cover. Near fine, small 1/8 inch chip to bottom of spine, front corners slightly creased and one 1/8 inch closed tear to front fore-edge. Interior age-toned at edges but fine, tight. Hundreds of illustrations in black and white: magical seals, signs and diagrams. Originally published in Stuttgart in 1849; popular in Germany during the latter nineteenth century. Texts that purport to explain the magic used by Moses (to part the Red Sea, for example).
