"George Poole was born at Carbonear on 24 July 1911. At the age of seven, he started school and at the age of eleven he quite and went to Labrador. His father had decided to go to Labrador for a year or two, but never did go back to Carbonear. There were no schools where he was raised in Labrador, so his formal education ended at eleven.". "During his lifetime, he worked at many other diverse occupations: cooking in luber yards, loading wood boats, operating a saw mill, truck driving, as telphone operator and ship to shore operator, and so on. So finally at the age of 76 he was forced to retire because of ill-health. Not satisfied with doing nothing, he decided to complete writing his life's story. Here it is!". Very Good.
