Hardback large octavo, very good condition, green cloth cover (gilt & black embossed cover & spine), colour frontispiece, edges faintly foxed, minor edgewear & bumping corners, top spine little frayed, prize bookplate. 274 pp. A rare Dutch translation by Johannes Baptist Rietstap (1828 - 1891) of two books about travel to Australia and the south west Pacific islands in the 1850s. The first book is "Wanderungen in Australien und Polynesien" (in German language), by O. Rietmann. The second book is "Life in Victoria, or Victoria in 1853, and Victoria in 1858", by William Kelly. Frontispiece is chromolithograph of Sydney. (Bookplate is prize awarded at Institution de Glimes, Anvers , dated 1876. No date, but 1867 Ferguson 14922, or 1870s Trove.).
