New York, The Macmillan Co. 1898, Second Printing. Hard Cover, 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 308p. No jacket. White cloth stamped in green and blue, with gold titling. The white cloth shows a great deal of soil/staining. Corners are bumped; some rubbing. Upper corners of a few pages (pgs 8-16 and 300-306) are torn and rumpled (they look chewed). Some stains and foxing to first ten pages; text is not obscured. Otherwise clean, lightly yellowed. The binding is still quite tight. Decent reading copy. Second printing, March 1898. Fair.
