Description: (1936). (1936). - Black-and-white publicity photo by Maurice Seymour, 10 inches high by 8 inches wide. Signed "Will Osborne". The photograph is lightly soiled with a tiny chip to the left edge & another to the right edge. There are pinholes, creases & small pieces out of each of the corners. The verso is soiled & darkened with 3 Harry Wilkinson stamps & with pieces of white tape along its top & bottom edges. Good.

The photograph, a head-and-shoulders portrait of Osborne wearing evening dress, is inscribed and signed in green ink at top right: "To / The Hollywood Museum / Best Wishes / Will Osborne".

Will Osborne [1905-1981] was an American bandleader, trombonist and vocalist. His bandleading career lasted from the mid 1920s to the late 1950s. A well known vocalist in the 1930s, he had a light crooning style and participated in a much publicized on-air radio feud with Rudy Vallee over which of them deserved credit for inventing "crooning". Good .
