Title: Partially Printed Document Signed. An Actors' Equity Contract Signed by Oscar Winning Stage & Screen Actress Josephine Hull and the Agent & Producer Chamberlain Brown.
Description: New York, July 6th, 1932. 1932. - sc - A printed contract on 5-1/2 inch high by 8-1/2 inch wide "Actors' Equity Association" letterhead. The contract between Josephine Hull and Chamberlain Brown is for the percentage of compensation to be paid to Brown as Special Employment Representative for securing a role for her in a play under the management of Robert McLaughlin. The terms "5% Run of Engagement" are penned in blue ink and the contract is boldly signed in black ink by Josephine Hull and by Chamberlain Brown. Two holes are punched along the left edge. There are creases to the edges and a short tear to the left edge, not affecting the text. Very good.

The American film and stage actress Josephine Hull (1877-1957) won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role opposite James Stewart in "Harvey" (1950).

The famous agent and producer Chamberlain Brown (1892-1955) is said to have discovered Valentino, Clark Gable, Leslie Howard, Tallulah Bankhead, and many others. Very good .
